    British Columbia’s Net Metering Program lets you generate your own electricity — typically with solar panels — and connect to BC Hydro’s grid. When your system produces more electricity than you use, the extra power is sent to the grid, earning you bill credits. These credits help offset your electricity costs when your system produces less than you need (like at night or in winter).

    What You Can Get

    • BC Hydro Solar & Battery Rebates
    • Up to $5,000 for grid-connected solar panels, $1,000 per kW installed, up to 5 kW. Covers up to 50% of installation costs (materials + labour)
    • Up to $5,000 for battery storage. $500 per kWh of battery (must be ≥ 5 kWh), max 50% of cost
